the four seas beach house, the caribbean
The house is
deliberately simple and can be
constructed using
straightforward building
techniques. The whole house
will be erected as a timber
meccano-style kit with
everything supplied, right down
to the nuts and bolts.
Due to limited facilities for
heavy-lifting (there is only one
crane on the island) the
sustainably-sourced timber
must be transported in
manageable sizes and
delivered on a barge direct to
site. The building frame is
supplied from mainland USA
and the remaining timber from
the Dominican Republic.
The focus of the house design
is to capture the exceptional
views over the sand and
ocean whilst creating
sheltered and shaded areas.
